Photos of the Acrux, taken 7/11/02
Roll B

Disclaimer: please note that these photos were taken explicitly to show the damage to the boat, and not to enhance it's value or appearance. Therefore there is a perponderance of photos of damage, and not very many photos showing the good things of the boat. The photos were taken in a fair hurry in the rain (5 rolls--120 photos--within about an hour of time!), so the picture quality isn't the best--for which I appologize. However, they do show the problems, which is why I took them!

The other rolls:

  • Roll A
  • Roll C
  • Roll D
  • Roll E

    1. Burn area (very poor photo). Sponge (dark area in center) is
3 inches by 4.5 inches. The lighter area around the sponge is
the hole which is burned entirely through the hull. It has
been temporarily planked over from the outside.

    Photo 2 did not work.

    3. Another photo of the burn (with sponge). This shows the hole
through the hull in the lower right; through the left center
runs a rib which has been mostly burnt out.

    4. Bilge, just aft from the head.

    5. Bilge, just aft from photo 4.

    Photo 6 did not work.

    7. Galley area. Counter in center. Stove to the left, sink to
the right. Temporary wires hanging down. Note propane line
running across counter; this needs to be re-routed!

    Photo 8 is a duplicate of 9.

    9. Stove area. Currently occupied by a propane camp stove.

    10. Galley area, primarily showing sink.

    Photo 11 did not work.

    12. Navigator's table. The fire was undernieth this table, so
the table is pretty badly burned on the bottom and needs to be
replaced. Electrical panel goes in the cutout in the wall in
    the back.

    13. Head ceiling, showing bottom of jib boom track (very top of
    photo), and the head windows.

    Photo 14 did not work.

    15. Door from head (missing mirror) into the forepeak.

    Photo 16 did not work.

    17. In the head, looking port over the door.

    18. Manual bilge pump, located in the cockpit area. Also shows
(just to the upper left of the pump) the electrical
connection. Wires to the wheel are in the left side of the
photo. The temporary green hose is from the electric bilge
pump. Corner of the engine hatch is in the bottom center.

    19. Steering wheel. Photo #18 is taken just below this.

    20. Aft cabin roof and hatch.

    21. Aft cabin roof, showing the mast.

    22. Aft cabin roof, showing the mast and hatches. Also shows
cockpit area. Red tubes are the upper part of a dolly.

    23. Starboard foreward deck. Shows outrigger foreward hatch.
Window is hard to see, but is located in center of photo (it
    has been 'glassed over).

    24. Hatch. Black area in upper right corner of hatch is rotted area.
