Photos of the Acrux, taken 7/11/02
Roll A.

Disclaimer: please note that these photos were taken explicitly to show the damage to the boat, and not to enhance it's value or appearance. Therefore there is a perponderance of photos of damage, and not very many photos showing the good things of the boat. The photos were taken in a fair hurry in the rain (5 rolls--120 photos--within about an hour of time!), so the picture quality isn't the best--for which I appologize. However, they do show the problems, which is why I took them!

The other rolls:

  • Roll B
  • Roll C
  • Roll D
  • Roll E

    1. Main cabin table, looking port. See also photo 24.

    2. Bench (sanded to wood), door to left, table to right.

    3. Foreward end of port bunk (main cabin). Shows sanded port wall,
port window, wire strap that leads to the mast "ladder". Left
side of photo has sheets of styrofoam.

    4. Aft end of port bunk (main cabin). Shows sanded port wall,
port window, closet door. Photo cluttered with more styrofoam.

    5. Foreward end of starboard bunk (main cabin). Shows foreward window,
starboard window, bunk light (just below foreward window)--and the
fact that it needs a lot of sanding!

    6. Galley. Sink & counter; wires overhead are temporary.
Overhead cupboards are open ( see photo 21). Opening
for the stove to the lower left of the photo. Main
    cabin door to right.

    7. Galley. Lower cupboards. Note the two footpumps; one
for salt water (up on wall) and one for fresh (in floor),
as well as the step (just above cupboards) so you can
    get into the upper cupboards.

    8. Door into head. White stuff on door is sawdust. Foreward
door missing mirror, and opens into the forepeak.

    9. Forepeak area. Hatch into storage area is open. Note
peeling paint on the walls, and the anchor rope.
The blue thing in the lower middle right is a 30 gallon
trash containter, sitting where the shower goes.

    10. Same as photo 9.

    11. Head (toilet). Currently built up onto a short pedistal.
Door to forepeak is open & in the right side of photo.

    Photo 12 did not work.

    13. Manual head sump pump (for pumping the foreward bilge).
Handle is missing. Sink to right. Metal strap on wall
is the foreward mast ladder. Toilet paper holder in the
foreground. Photo is immediately above #11.

    14. Port side of head. Photo is immediately above #13.
Metal strap is the foreward mast ladder. Mirror in lower
    right corner of photo.

    Photo 15 did not work.
    Photo 16 did not work.

    17. Although this photo did not work, I have included it to
give an idea of the lower areas of the walkway through
the main cabin. It shows the floor (lower part of the
photo), the area under the table (upper area of photo),
and a narrow, deep cupboard in the center.

    18. Foreward seat for the table. Table to left, head door
(open) to the right. Electric heater is on seat. Seat
    opens into locker.

    19. Although this photo did not work very well, it does show
the hatch into the main cabin (next is much better).
Sink (with quart sized orange juice container in it),
navigators table is in the center bottom, behind the back
of the (very dark) aft table seat.

    20. Hatch into main cabin. In the background, you can see
the open hatch into the aft cabin. Between the two, the
cockpit, the grey area of the floor is the hatch into the
    engine area. Light just below right center of photo;
temporary power cable comes through door.

    21. Starboard kitchen overhead cupboards. Note peeling paint in
    far end of cupboard.

22 & 23. Starboard closet (located at foot of main cabin bed).
Paint has mostly peeled. Window in upper left. Shelves
    to right.
    ...

    24. Main cabin table. Bench to left (aft) is missing seat;
dust on table is from sanding.

    25. Sitting on the starboard bunk, looking (aftward) toward
    the navigator's table. Main table bench in lower right;
main cabin hatch in upper left; nav table inbetween, with
lots of stuff on it. Stove (currently just a propane
camp stove) in the lower left.
