1/2 way between Hinchinbrook Is and Cape Spencer 8am, having fun, good sailing yesterday, hope to get to Cape Spencer late tomorrow or early Sunday, sailed all night with good wind, porpoise played alongside 1.5 hrs this morning, saw albatross, 87 mi first day, 64 mi the second, 50 mi yesterday, some sun today, light SW swell, 5.5-6 WSW wind, motoring with jib up since not enough wind, will call 9PM tomorrow

2200: 3mi offshore; 5mi N of Cape Spencer; will anchor overnight in Graves harbor then head into the Inside Passage in the AM; had a hard time sleeping while crossing Gulf due to motion of boat; going to Hoona but not Juneau; seeing beautiful snowcapped mountains of Southeast Alaska

2100: Arrived 1900, tail wind yesterday, head wind today, will stay here tomorrow to get maps, do laundry, relax, etc., probably won't stop in Canada, may get to Seattle before the end of August if the weather holds

2100: was able to get maps and do laundry today, taking a shower tonight, likely to stay another day to overhaul the motor, taking lots of pictures to be posted later, unable to extend the lease of the satelite phone so likely no contact after leaving Ketchikan until WA (about 2 weeks), keeping a journal to be posted later, will call tomorrow afternoon if leaving or evening if staying another night in Ketchikan

2100: weather turned bad, rain and low visibility most of the day, found book store, called Frankie several times and spent time finding fax & notary so Frankie could sell a piece of property in Fairbanks this afternoon, saw several large ships in port, advisory upgraded to storm warning (up to 50kt winds)

2100: wet & miserable day, pouring rain & windy, must move boat tomorrow since owner of current slip he is in are returning, hopefully leaving Ketchikan tomorrow morning, weather expected to be improving, not planning to stop so no contact while traversing Canada, expect to be in US waters before September 7, if not he will go ashore and call to give location and update ETA, getting bored waiting in Ketchikan, will call tomorrow morning

1030: getting ready to leave, Canadian customs asked him to stop in Prince Rupert, he may also stop in Bella Bella, not planning to spend the night in either place but will call to check in, weather clearing

2100: head wind in AM, shifted to 20kt crosswind allowing 8-9kt sailing for a few hours then died back down, pouring rain all day, staying overnight, leaving early AM, 1 hr line yesterday at the fuel dock to get fuel, now in Pacific Time Zone, cleared customs ok, still anticipate arrival in Seattle on or before Sept 7

1000: HE MADE IT!!! called from PMC's boatyard in Ballard, will unload our belongings the next few days then take them to my parents near Spokane for storage, had to wait for train to cross before opening the drawbridge, had no trouble going through the Ballard Locks, a worker was waiting for him in the boatyard this morning (he called previously and told them his ETA to the yard), having dinner with friends tonight in Seattle, returning to Fairbanks on Tuesday night
