Help!!!

Do you want to help us? There are several ways you can do so:

1. Contribute money.

Our electrical supply is not properly connected. Actually it is not connected at all: we have an extension cord running over to Mars Base Zero’s neighbor (who, incidentally, is also donating use of the land Mars Base Zero is built on). Now an extension cord may work ok for running such things as the furnace and a few lights, but when we turn on the main lights the master fuse blows. Ouch. So we need to get our own power drop. Unfortunately this is going to be very expensive, for we need a 300 amp service because of the 40,000 kilowatts of lights we have (not to mention the additional 20,000 we may add in the future). The estimate we have is $5,000 to get hooked up to the local power company. Any amount you can contribute to this would be very much appreciated (even $5 at a time will build up with enough people contributing). Donations should be made out to ISECCo and mailed to:

2. Time

All our work is done by volunteers. Most of this is by part time people who show up at our meetings or workfests and work hard for a few hours or a few days. With Mars Base Zero located in Fairbanks, most of our members can not take part in the actual construction and operation of it. However there are a lot of things non-local people can do to help. One is to help maintain this web site. If this is something you would like to do, the first step would be to go through each page and search for errors. For other ideas that could help us out, please send a note to our president.

3. Spread the word!

An organization such as ISECCo needs a large member base. Because we have a lot of ‘free’ members, our contributions per member are rather low. This means we need a very large membership base in order to develop the income we need to keep our project going. Right now we don’t have enough members contributing money to move forward very fast, so if you haven’t joined yourself we urge you to do so—and let all your friends know we exist so they can check us out!
