Miki & Julie Collins

My sisters live in the Alaskan bush, in a place called Lake Minchumina. They make their living partly by living off the land (hunting, fishing, trapping, gardening), partly by selling handicrafts (fur hats, mittens, muckluks, etc) and partly by writing & photography. They have a regular column in the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer, write regular stories for magazines and have also published three books: Trapline Twins, Ride the North Side of Denali (about live in the Alaskan Bush) and a textbook on dog care for mushers called Dog Driver.
